Review: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, Three Lives Three Worlds [C-Drama]

Hello dearies,

I am back, you guys, after loooooong hiatus..phew !! and I'm In the mood to start writing again..hehe...

I am so surprised by how much I enjoyed C-drama Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms!

Hope this review will influence you guys to jump on the Peach train as well if you're not already on it ;)

So recently, a funny thing happened to me. I found myself marathoning Chinese fantasy drama Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I was not a fan of C-drama previously as I was busy indulged in my K-drama's world. So yeah! this is a new thing for me. Initially i just watched the trailers for this drama in Facebook (Drama fever site) as they were always popped up in my news-feed. This, when I’ve found myself attracted to this drama and i started to find out where can i watch all of the episodes. Knowing that this drama has 58 episodes, it kinda make me discourage to complete the series. However after patiently watching the first 3 episodes, I found that i'm hooked to this drama and wanting to finish the whole episodes despite the many episodes that i will usually believe that drama with many episodes are troublesome and wasting of time.

But not this time, dearies. I was watching as many episodes in a day. I watched the episodes back-to-back, and even stayed up at night, risking next-day panda eyes just to watch one more episode... Not only that, I also watched this show almost exclusively, through all of its 58 episodes without fast forward the scene. So wow!!

SYNOPSIS

Mo Yuan is the famous undefeated Kunlun Mountain’s God of War. High Immortal Zhe Yan of Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms takes along the daughter of a Fox king, Bai Qian, female heiress of Qing Qiu, to become Mo Yuan’s disciple. Although Bai Qian has disguised herself as a male under the name of Si Yin, this magical spell does not pass the eye of Mo Yuan. However, having been chosen by the Jade of Purity fan, a newly arrived magical artifact, destiny leads her to becoming accepted as his seventeenth disciple and owner of the fan.

During the devastating war between the Celestial Tribe and the Ghost Tribe, Mo Yuan uses his soul to seal the ghost lord in a deadly bell. 70,000 years later, now female monarch of Qing Qiu, Bai Qian performs the same spell to reseal him, following her master’s legacy. In doing so, the former ghost lord seals her identify, memories, and powers descending her to the earthly world as a mortal. She ‘rescues’ a black dragon, Crown Prince Yue Hua of the Celestial Tribe, who she mistakes as a snake. Another life time of fate, love, betrayal and heart break starts for these two destined lovers. After giving birth to their child A-Li, the mortal Bai Qian known as Su Su jumps down the deadly, body-and-soul-destroying Zhu Xian Terrace.

Having passed her high goddess trial, Bai Qian regains her identity, awakening at the Ten Miles of Peach Blossom orchard. The pain of her memories as Su Su leads to her decision to drink Zhe Yan’s amnesia potion, erasing Yue Hua from both her heart and mind. Little does she know that when she resealed the ghost lord, the heavenly emperor and her father had arranged a marriage alliance between her and the crown prince. 300 years later, for their third life time, they reencounter each other. Are they finally able to place together the pieces of the puzzle of their love life or will they once again be unable to obtain their happily ever after? -blog.onehallyu.com- -thefangirlverdict.com-

HIGHLIGHTS REVIEW

Mark Chao plays 2 characters here, as God of War, Mo Yuan & Celestial Tribe crown prince, Ye Hua. Even though Mark Chao plays more than one character, I like him as Ye Hua the most (yes, I’m a Ye Hua fan).

Yang Mi as our heroine here. She known as Bai Qian, Queen of Qing Qiu and the only daughter of Fox King. She’s got a very likable quality about her, and she transitioned so beautifully from the younger and more immature Si Yin, to the older and wiser Bai Qian.

Even though Bai Qian allowed herself to be bullied as Su Su when she was cursed to be in the Moral Realm, I do love that when she is fully herself, and back in her immortal skin, she is powerful and strong, and doesn’t hesitate to stand up for herself.

One of my favorite Bai Qian moments is in episode 54, when she realizes that Su Jin (a very annoying character) had taken her eyes, and she basically marches right up to the Nine Heavens and takes them right back. So. Badass.

One main point that Ye Hua’s sincere, deep and unwavering love for Bai Qian is a complete breath of fresh air.

Finally after an emotional rollercoster. We get a PERFECT HAPPY ENDING.❤
The good thing is that all the bad, evil characters either meet their ends, or are punished for their wrongdoings. The bad thing is there’s so much sadness during the last few episodes.

CONCLUSION

Epic love story that works out to be both heartfelt and satisfying with a happy ending.

RATING: 4.5/5
